Person in Environment

Social work is known for its person-in-environment perspective.  However, only recently has social work included the physical environment as equally important as a person’s contextual and cultural environment. Environmental justice is the contemporary and ultimate social justice issue that social workers need to address!
The first social work course at the School of Social Work to address environmental justice was conducted online in Summer 2011.  Students were incredibly engaged and developed wonderful presentations highlighting both local and global environmental issues important to social work. They are posted on the Student Presentations page for your enjoyment and edification!
